Jcm800 voodoo mod Jan 28, 2007 · I may be recording at a studio that has this amp and was wondering what the mod does? Does it add gain or will the amp still need to be boosted to get into hard rock/metal territory? I won't be able to try the amp until I'm actually there. It did take a lot of dialing in, and I do use a Hot Plate with it to squash some of the wide dynamics.
